This A&W is inside Masonville Mall, for that reason, the service is allowed to be awful because starving shoppers will eat anything.
Some good things first:
- They accept coupons (their coupons offer great deals)
- Their food is pretty good
Onto the bad:
- My #1 issue: the managers can't schedule their staff properly. When there's a line of 10 people, there's one staff doing all the work. All of a sudden, no one is waiting in line and there are now 4 staff members. Waiting in line is like going to an amusement park - it takes forever. I always feel bad for the 1 staff that's doing all the work. Their staff are polite most of the time though.
- Because the managers can't schedule their staff properly, the food also takes forever to come out. I once waited 15 minutes for 2 burgers when it normally takes less than 5 minutes.
A&W is a good chain, and the one on Hyde Park and Oxford is great! But the Masonville location really isn't impressive. 1 star for service, 4 stars for food.
Tips:
- They have killer onion rings
- If you have a coupon for a combo and you don't tell the staff what drink you want, they'll automatically give you root beer, so unless you want root beer, specify your beverage of choice.
- I think they now have all day breakfast! Their hash browns are great :)
